Amboseli National Park is set against the magnificent backdrop of Africa’s highest mountain, the glittering Mount Kilimanjaro. Nairobi / Masai Mara Game Reserve
This morning you will be collected from your hotel in Nairobi, and transferred through to Nairobi Wilson Airport, in time to board the scheduled flight into the world famous Masai Mara. Spend the next few days at Karen Blixen Camp, with the great Mara plains behind the camp and the impressive escarpment and Mara River in front. This afternoon enjoy your first game drive.
Masai Mara Game Reserve
During the day enjoy a game drive through Masai Mara. The reserve is best known for its wildebeest and zebra migration, which tends to pass through the area between July to October. Alternatively enjoy an optional (own account) balloon safari over the Masai Mara, for a bird’s eye view of these great plains.
Masai Mara Game Reserve / Amboseli National Park
After breakfast you fly into Amboseil area, admire the wonderul views of Amboseli Park and Mount Kilimanjaro from the air and ground. This afternoon visit a typical Masai village and get and insight into the life of this traditional tribe.
Amboseli National Park
Today enjoy a morning and afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. Enjoy watching a herd of elephants stroll across the plains with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro in the background. Africa at it’s best.
Amboseli National Park / Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast you fly into Tsavo West National Park. From here you will enjoy a traditional game drive on your way to Severin Safari Camp, arriving in time for lunch. Afterwards, take time to relax at the Kenbali Spa or by the pool, before going on an excursion to the popular Mzima Springs, a lake with crocodiles and hippos, in the afternoon. The largest elephant population of Kenya can be found in Tsavo West National Park, along with lions, buffaloes, leopards and countless bird species.
Tsavo West National Park / Tsavo East National Park
Discover the secrets of the African wilderness by foot! You are accompanied by a Masai, and learn more about the eco-system, the multifaceted bird life and other park inhabitants. After breakfast you fly into Tsavo East National Park. This part of the park is very popular for its herds of red elephant.
Tsavo East National Park
Today enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch on route to Luggards Falls on the Galana River. These amazing falls are in fact rapids where Galana River disappers into a rocky gorge. The beauty of the site is the multi coloured rocks carved over centuries by the water into a variety of fantastic shapes. The rapids, become raging floods during the rain seasons, plunge into a large pool below where giant crocodiles rest on the sandbanks.
Tsavo East National Park / Depart Mombasa
After breakfast fly back to Mombasa, where your journey ends.
