1
(Sun) Johannesburg
Touch down at OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) where you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure, exploring the magnificent suburban shopping malls or take an optional afternoon Soweto Tour (own account). At 19h00 we all meet up at reception for a briefing on the tour and a chance to meet your fellow travellers.

2
(Mon) Johannesburg / Mpumalanga (BB, BD)
Depart by 08h30 and leave Johannesburg travelling via the towns of Dullstroom and Lydenburg before traversing Robbers Pass to the historic town of Pilgrim’s Rest affectionately known as a living monument. The town was made famous by being the second of the Transvaal gold fields, attracting a rush of prospectors in 1873. After lunch at a local restaurant (own account), continue through Mpumalanga, dropping several hundred feet into the lush subtropical region of the Lowveld. Travel to the small town of Sabie and visit the Lone Creek Falls, where the Sabie River pours over a 70-m cliff of trees, moss and ferns. After a short convenience stop, travel to your evening accommodation, which is situated on the famous Long Tom Pass and take in the panoramic views across the escarpment.

3
(Tue) Panorama Route (BB, L, D)
After a sumptuous early morning breakfast, we begin the journey up the awe inspiring Panoramic Route with its views of forested mountains and fertile plains. Visiting God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and Blyde River Canyon (home to the Three Rondawels), we travel through the grandiose Drakensberg Mountain Range (via Abel Erasmus pass and the Strydom Tunnel) to an exclusive private game reserve in time for lunch at the lodge. With its three perennial rivers, and huge Jackelberry and Leadwood trees, the lodge is home to Africa’s Big 5, as well as a wealth of other smaller creatures and bird species. After tea, we set off on an afternoon/evening open vehicle game drive - perfect for game viewing. Conducted by a qualified game ranger and Shangaan tracker, vast experiences of the African Bush will be shared and enjoyed. A decadent evening meal compliments and completes the day’s adventure.

4
(Wed) Northern Mpumalanga / Kruger National Park (B, BD)
Set off before sunrise in an open safari vehicle in search of elusive nocturnal animal species and enjoy morning coffee, tea and traditional African snacks as daylight begins in the African bushveld. After enjoying a hearty mid-morning breakfast, it is time to continue the journey to the world famous Kruger National Park. Taking a short lunch break along the route, we enter the Park toward a private concession within Kruger National Park observing prolific plains game. After a brief and well-earned afternoon’s rest, venture into the concession on an early evening sundowner drive and watch the stars come out over the African sky. Returning to the camp, indulge in true South African hospitality and local food before turning in for the evening.

5
(Thur) Kruger National Park / Johannesburg
Setting off as the sun rises, we spend the morning seeking out Kruger’s creatures (big and small) hoping to catch a glimpse of the elusive cat species with the spoils of the previous night’s hunt. Whilst the plains game stir and the bushveld comes alive with bird songs, we return to camp for an opulent late breakfast. Saying goodbye to the animals, we conclude the safari adventure by returning to Johannesburg with a drop off at OR Tambo International Airport or your hotel in Johannesburg.
