On arrival at Windhoek Airport, you will be met by a Discovering Africa representative and transferred to your hotel to spend the remainder of your afternoon at leisure.
Depart Windhoek and head north via Okahandja for a visit to a local market to shop for wood carvings and local crafts. Arrive at your lodge late in the afternoon.
Spend a full day touring the Etosha National Park, visiting waterholes to observe the wildlife. Savour your first view of the Etosha pan, known locally as ‘The place of dry water’. A game drive in an open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle is available as an optional extra (for own account).
Board the touring vehicle and spend another day in Etosha’s unique desert landscape in search of wildlife, including large populations of elephants and prolific bird life. Your accommodation tonight is located just outside the reserve.

Spend time learning about their captivating heritage and unique way of life. From the small settlement near Kamanjab, head via Khorixas, the capital of the Damaraland region to arrive at your lodge in the mid-afternoon.

Rise early to see the highlights of Damaraland, one of Africa’s last true wilderness areas. You will pass through scenic landscapes en route to the Petrified Forest, where you will visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and see fascinating geological features such as the Organ Pipes and Burnt Mountain. Spend the remainder of your afternoon at leisure.
Today is spent travelling via Henties Bay to the charming coastal resort of Swakopmund, where you can spend the remainder of the afternoon at leisure exploring the town.
Spend the day exploring the charming town of Swakopmund. Indulge in a harbour cruise, take a scenic flight, or choose one of the numerous optional adventure activities on offer.
Experience some of the region’s natural wonders, such as the ancient Welwitschia Mirabilis and the Moon Landscape, before travelling to the edges of the Namib Desert. From there, proceed through the southern region of the Namib Naukluft Park, the Kuiseb Canyon, and the Gaub Pass before reaching your accommodation.
Visit the spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, which are reputedly the highest dunes in the world. If you are up for the challenge, you may choose to climb to the top of the dunes, before returning to your lodge.
Enjoy a leisurely start to your day followed by a drive through the scenic Spreetshoogte Pass (road conditions permitting) to Windhoek. Arrive at your Windhoek city hotel at approximately 14h00. Alternatively, you may choose to be dropped off at the Windhoek International Airport by 14h30.
